The name of the Casa do Barqueiro, is in honor of the men who worked on the rabelo boats, they were the ones who went up the Douro River and transported the tunnels full of Port wine to the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. A voyage often without return because the agitated waters of the river were unforgiving. These great hard-working men were given the name of "Barqueiros" (boatmen). The Boatmen's House is the missing element of the Tourism Project "Quinta da Cabrida - Porto & Douro Tourism", which began in 2017 in the Douro with the "Casa do Feitor", then with the "Casa do Jornaleiro" and now in Porto with the "Casa do Barqueiro". A typical house, in the heart of Porto, complete to offer the best experience we seek in the Invicta City. The Casa do Barqueiro is located in the heart of the historical center of the city, with restaurants, cafes and movie theaters within 300 meters. All of Porto's most popular monuments are within a few minutes walk from Casa do Barqueiro. Very well located, inserted in a very quiet and reserved neighborhood, which guarantees a good night's sleep.
